My dream home

I often watch HGTV, I love that channel. I see people with dream homes and I often fantasize about what kind of home I would have if I had the money. I think mine, would definitely look something like the above. One of the shows I watch is a favorite, is Candece Olson's "Devine Desing", I love what she comes up with though I find she crowds the environment too much. I also watch, "Design to Sell" where they take a couple of rooms in a home and prep it for sale.

What is your dream style if you had money to burn?

I would live somewhere tropical, on the water in a home that is open with large mirrors and draperies that would flow in the breeze. Live flowers and cut ones all around. Large stately furniture, big fluffy couches.

I'm always so surprised when I open a blog and see photos of my house...

OK, this isn't my house, but I wouldn't turn it down!

The house I really do live in is my dream house -- it just isn't finished yet??? It needs a lot of custom work done. I anticipate that it will be finished by 2088.

Very close to yours - a mixture of modern and world style.
Hey, they have my Bertoia chairs in your dream house!

I want a huge log cabin in the middle of the mountains with a beautiful lake close by. lots of comfy furniture and huge beds with unique and fabulous quilts. Lots of gardens...an herb garden, cut flower, roses and a variety of blooms with color year round. I want it to feel remote but with fairly easy access to a large city. I live 2 hours from a large city now and this is just not working. I love your dream home

That light fixture is amazing, and the pool. I was banned from watching HGTV, it inevitably sent me running for a sledgehammer or online to ogle tiles or something.

Dream house: I could not pick one style. I love old homes really, with decades of life lived in them. I also love great design from any period really though (not all is).

Can I come stay? I love that house! I'm addicted to Dwell magazine and would kill for a super-modern, concrete & glass house in a little mountain town somewhere in Colorado. Or on top of a hill overlooking the ocean in Costa Rica would do nicely too. OK, I'll take both. One for winter, one for summer.

I didn't realize until last night that you'd password protected your old blog. I miss seeing your kids' beautiful faces!
