Only 71. So young. That man was incredibly funny. I remember him saying during one of those "things you never hear people say..." skits, "Please saw my legs off." "Hand me that piano."
The man was intelligent and funny, the best mix. RIP. xoxo
I'm just now getting over hear to read your tribute - hearing the instantly recognized intro for "I'll be seeing you" started uncontrollably WEEPING. This is one of my favorite songs and proper, stirring, emotional tribute to a man we both never met but loved. Thank you for sharing it.

I did not know until I read your post, so now I am crying. I loved him so and did not really know how much until now. Blessings George.
I respect a person who is not afraid to say what some of us may think and do not say.
May he rest in peace.
I was sad to hear of his passing. Nice tribute.
Here, here! There will not be another like him!

I think he would love this tribute, since it is the one that got him into so much trouble. Whenever I get too sanctimonious, I think of him.
George pushed the envelope. I admired him greatly.
Thank you for this tribute.
