I dreamed that in my living room there stood a pearl elephant. He was so beautiful and I felt so happy that he was there, that the absurdity of an elephant in my living room, did not even register. Such are the stuff of dreams, where the incongruous is common place. Upon waking, I felt sad that it was just a dream. Have you ever woken up to miss the impossible, the rediculous?

Yes, such a strange, beautiful odd experience to feel like you've just been somewhere, done something, etc and wake not immediately realizing it was a dream.
Oh yes, I have! But, honestly this looks wonderful!

Oh, yes. My mind can come up with the most epic of dreams...big, richly-costumed, sprawling, century-spanning adventures. Mine are the Lawrence of Arabia of dreams...and sometimes the Orlando of dreams (I mean Virginia Woolf, not Bloom).I often miss them when they fade into the mists of daylight.
I was just there! Oh..to go back! Or have that in my house as a memory.
What a lovely dream. I love elephants! I dream of them often...
What a beautiful idea... a pearl elephant ;) ... now if thats not an auspicious dream i dunno what is... good things are gonna happen to you my sister... i feel it...
Your post reminds me of a poem
by Samuel taylor coleridge...It goes like this...
"What if you slept? And what if, in your sleep, you dreamed?
And what if, in your dream, you went to heaven
and there plucked a strange and beautiful flower?
And what if, when you awoke,
you had the flower in your hand?
Ah, what then?"
Much love,
M
A little token for you at my place ;)
too often i wake from dreams that i wish i could fly back into ...
Hola Yoli,
me gustan mucho las imágenes de ese sueno, tiene adentro un dolor tan lindo que solo puede estar lleno de esperanzas.
saludos, t.
Lovely postings. Some silly, all interesting....
Yes, I have to fight the tendency to live in my dreams and not in my body...
Cecile, one must never take oneself seriously. My blog is a silly world with some punctuation marks. ;)
Maybe once my CPAP is adjusted I can dream again! In the meantime, I think I will just enjoy yours!
According to the dream dictionary:
Seeing an elephant in your dream is defined more by the animal's attitude and occupation. If the elephant is pleasant and friendly, you will have good luck. If you are riding the beast, you will have much success. If you see an elephant performing in a circus, you will be surrounded by happy, loving people. If you see the elephant doing a job you will have the success of your wildest dreams. Another meaning of the elephant in a dream has to do with whether or not you are seeking answers, or go to sleep with a particular problem on your mind, in which case the elephant denotes the key to knowledge and truth and after sight of the elephant, you will be told the answer.
Trunk up so the good luck stays put!

Especially when I'm flying.
I just close my eyes again and return to the place where all things are possible. Somehow it is even better to me to slip back in with the conscience knowledge of what you are returning to. Mmmm I love dreams.
Now you make me wish I remembered my dreams better. I think I have been too tired to remember them for a long time... I would like a pearl elephant, too.
Lovely photo, and your new header is wonderful! xoxo
All the times! That is one incredible elephant.
Oh yes. I miss the realm of that reality all the time. Truly. It makes so much more sense over there and it is so much more creative.
oh yes, at times i want to continue my dreams during day time...
how fun...a pearl elephant !
:-)
Yes, all the time :( It can be discouraging...
Nice blog :)

It's great that you remember your dreams. For years I wrote them down. It was SO intriguing, also a recurring dream helped pinpoint a problem I had, with caring too much about what others thought about me. Thankfully I've grown up!! Don't you think dreams are important???
Have sweet ones tonight Yoli! Maybe you will ride your elephant!

Yes. I've occasionally been heartbroken upon waking, almost like I had again been with a person or in a place that I once belonged and then it was gone.
sometimes dreams are so real.
the dream is in fact the message from your subconscius. maybe it tells you something important - what this could be?
The elephant in the room. That was the first phrase that came into my head.
This was a beautiful dream. Thanks for sharing it with us and thanks for you comments on my post on 'The Second sex'. I agree with you that religious bigotry is to blame for women's situation that's why I said that I don't believe that theocracies are the answer. Thanks. Keep dreaming and keep sharing.
Greetings from London.
I sometimes dream about an unknown man,I never see his face but I feel SO MUCH love in this dreams, that it takes my breath away... And when I´m awake,I am the whole day totally in love with this man which I don´t know. And I always feel so sad, when the feeling get lost more and more till the evening...
Yes, absolutely! Although elephants haven't played a role, some strange people have! xo
What a beautiful dream!!!
"Once upon a time, I, Chuang Chou, dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. I was conscious only of my happiness as a butterfly, unaware that I was Chou. Soon I awaked, and there I was, veritably myself again. Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly, dreaming I am a man."
Crossing over. The thin river we call consciousness. May the sweet fragrance linger.
I have yet to comprehend whether I have woken up from my dreams. For now, I choose to remain in it for as long as I can. :)
Yes. I love that you seem to live in a world full of imagery.
Elephants can represent "your wise self; if knowledgable of Hindu-Buddhist mythology, may represent some type of power available to you which can be positive or negative"
"To see pearls in your dream, symbolizes the human soul, inner beauty, purity and chastity. Alternatively, it represents tears and sadness."
So maybe, rather than dreaming, you are contacting the deeper power of your soul. Sounds profound to me!
