Everyone who reads this blog knows that I have two children from China. We are also about to adopt a third. I love the people of China with a passion that words fail and feeling is all that remains. My sadness lies with the treatment of the people of Tibet. I hope one day, they will find it in their hearts to allow them freedom. I have hope.
On the eve of the 50th anniversary of his exile, thinking on the Dalai Lama's words:
My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness.-- Dalai Lama
My message is the practice of compassion, love and kindness. Compassion can be put into practice if one recognizes the fact that every human being is a member of humanity and the human family regardless of differences in religion, culture, color and creed. Deep down there is no difference.--Dalai Lama
Whether one believes in a religion or not, and whether one believes in rebirth or not, there isn't anyone who doesn't appreciate kindness and compassion.-- Dalai Lama
If there is love, there is hope to have real families, real brotherhood, real equanimity, real peace. If the love within your mind is lost, if you continue to see other beings as enemies, then no matter how much knowledge or education you have, no matter how much material progress is made, only suffering and confusion will ensue.-- Dalai Lama
If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.-- Dalai Lama

Yoli - I am so excited for you about the new addition to your family and extend my very best wishes.
Thank you for the beautiful Dali Lama quotes - I am in total agreement with his views. I'm not a big fan of all the trappings that come with most organized religions - the rituals, the rules, etc. I love what the D.L. has to say - he's inspiring!
I still can't believe that you are going back for number 3! I love it.
That picture of my beloved Dhali Lama is adorable. For some reason I haven't seen that one.

Congratulations on your newest little one! Are your other two children excited?
Isn't it odd that the one religious leader who promotes compassion and makes room for other religious faiths, should be the one in exile? It just doesn't seem to make sense...
Hi Yoli,
Congratulations. The wisdom of the Dali Lama is an inspiration to any who will listen. A person who can refer to those who exiled him as "my friends the enemy" deserves to be listened to.
Namaste
Many thanks for these apposite quotes, yoli. My religion is the same as the Lama: humanism.
Greetings from London.
Beautiful. Thank you.
Lovely.
I am so happy for your family.
Wonderful news about you new baby, many best congratulations to you all!
Thank you for the quotations from the Dali Lama he is truly wise and an inspiration.
I do think about you and your lovely children often. I think your commitment to them and their culture and how you raise them is perfectly aligned with what the Dalai Lama talks about.
My thoughts are with all people in Tibet right now.
Thank you for this post.
This is certainly lovely news. May the latest addition to your household bring forth abundance of laughter and eternal bliss! :)
There is so much truth in the words of the Dali Lama. It is a pity on what is happening in Tibet.
Such wonderful news Yoli. Congratulations.
