My friend Susie from Susie's Big Adventure has written a brave and powerful post today. You see, Susie, is a former cop born in the USA, who now lives with her son and husband in Saudi Arabia. This is a smart and compassionate woman with a great love for her family. No, she is not naive, nor was she ever, about what she was getting into. She simply wanted her son to get to know his other side of the family. She has been 1 1/2 years there already. Her observations do not come from a place of judgement, or cultural ignorance and that is why I think she is one very powerful voice. thank you for the link, heading there next. you always have inspiring things to share. i lived in iran and bangladesh. and my father lived in saudi for 3 years. so i will be very interested in this.
She's very brave to be there, isn't she? She certainly has a handsome family and I can understand her wanting her son to know his origins. I do appreciate her position on the use of women in SA society. It's very hard not to judge other cultures when they seem to me oppressing their own.

First, thank you for commenting on my blog; I appreciate it. I am a follower of Susie in Arabia and find her blog such an eye-opener. I don't think I would have the courage to do what she did by moving to Saudi Arabia. Your blog is beautifully written. I will continue to stop by. I haven't been on either one of my blogs for a while.
