Willow Manor Ball

This is one of those inviations that I cannot possibly turn down. I am talking about the devine Third Annual Willow Manor Ball ~! My date for this evening was Dr.Gregory House. He unfortunately comes to pick me up in a tiny little tin can. I was not pleased and quickly informed him that my dress will not fit in there. He grumbles, I politely ask him to wait outside. It is what it is and I must move on and dress.
After my 2 hour bath, I pour some Black Orchid on me, while I contemplate the single piece of jewelry I will wear. One must always be tasteful at these affairs or you will not get invited back.

A single solitary yellow diamond that I picked up at Sotheby's will do.

I found these gorgeous shoes earlier this year. The minute I eyed them, I knew it had Willow Manor Ball written all over them.
Then the Pièce de résistance! My beautiful dress! I was careful to chose something that would not steal the thunder from Willow. She is so sensitive about those things poor dear, as if I ever could! You like it don't you? Subtle, like a young deer.

Arriving at the gate of Willow Manor, I was met with so many dashing gentlemen. All eyes were on me. I quickly told Dr.Gregory House that after that awful ride holding on to my antlers, I could not possibly continue the date. I passed him off to Willow to entertain, I think he has fallen in love with her because he did not want to part from her the whole evening. She has that effect on men. That is why there are so many handsome gentlemen at the ball.

I danced the night away, but not alone so do not feel badly for me. You see for the minute my one true love saw me, we reconciled. Yes, it is him again that followed me to the ball and would not leave my side. Some rude woman told me it was the antlers, I know better, it was the love.

A full moon and Mr.Ramsey. What more can a girl ask for? Another perfect ball. Kudos to you dear Willow.

Yoli, dahling....love the dress, shoes and the diamonds! I saw you out on the dance floor as Dr. House limped about trying to catch your attention and apologise!
(But I understand why you were upset!)

My feet (in my sparkly Jimmy Choos) are killing me after all this dancing....(I had four escorts!) so, I ended up taking them off and dancing like a Hungarian Gypsy - which pleased Escort #1, Franz Liszt immensely!

So lovely to finally meet you and clink champagne glasses! Prost!

Oh, my-my-my your fabulous antler headdress is just over the top, Yoli! After I greeted you and the doctor at the door, I had to move quickly on, since his piercing eyes were making me swoony. (I knew you would understand)

Sería un placer y honor compartir un baile contigo esta noche en la casa de willow, Yoli. Thanks for the visit to my blog and I look forward to more interractions.

I love your story...thanks for taking me away to the ball. After a morning of waking far too early to puppy troubles, bad hair and mismatched pjs, I needed that.

Yoli,a gorgeous stylish chic like yourself could not possibly have the hots for Gordon Ramsey. Please tell me you are joking. It must be the full moon.

Yoli said...

Yes, yes, yes, Gordon is "the" man! I always like the intense dramatic types.

Maia I a so sorry you woke up to puppy troubles.

Oh, I wondered who in the world that was in the glorious dress and shoes. So great to meet you!
Could you move your hand a bit please? Your ring is making a dreadful glare in my left eye.
Wonderful Ball, isn't it?

I was happy to take Dr. House off your (and Willow's) hands for one spin around the dance floor. He completely lost his limp in my arms. Bliss. I love your gown, love it!

yoli -- this is too much!! first house and then gordon ramsey -- yikes, you do choose those prickly guys, don't you? i'm nervous that the foto shows him sharpening his knives.....better watch out and protect those antlers, dear!

you look ravishing and i'm sure by the end of the evening anthony bourdain will have pushed gordon aside just to get to you........

Your shoes and dress leave me speechless! How did you keep your antlers from snagging the draperies?
I can see you like the 'bad boy' types...lots of dark intensity! See you at the buffet!

Yoli! You have me in stitches!! I can just see you trying to get into that "tin can". Wish we had been there to see your grand entrance. Probably just as well that we were delayed, "Yuri" might have engaged you to pull the sleigh! The storm was dreadful. Just love your whimsy.

Hmm. I don’t know Yoli. That looks more like a gown for a tea party in Yellowstone National Park. But, what do I know about such things?

I've heard rumors of Chef having an affair. My lips are sealed but the tabloids may be after your deer hide. Consider this a warning. Run to the hills...you will be well camouflaged.

Ruth said...

Hilarious, and yet, somehow beautiful!

Thanks for coming by!

I loved this post! Giggled about those antlers and how they ultimately dictated your evening. I did love the dress, though. The shoes looked like killers. I bet they scared Dr. House (he looks frightened in that photo, and so stubbly). So you went from stubbly to studdly! Congratulations on a fine appearance at the Ball.

Yoli said...

He better not Diane! I'm armed and dangerous! Did you see the shoes?

tony said...

You Looked Fabulous! We Had A Ball!

Tessa said...

Yoli, you glorious creature you! (Incidently, Hugh was my date at last years Willow Manor Ball..shows what similar tastes we have, darling!) I love, love the antlers...please may I borrow them for our New Year bash at the Ritz. Rather more elegant than my hut, y'know.

I waved at you across the room, but I think you were too deeply engaged in foodie conversation with Gordon (doesn't his facelift lessen his sex appeal just a tad? Too, too smooth now! I rather like a bit of craggy)

Ranulph and I have planned a new expedition...this time he has promised to take me from the tip of India to the toe. On an elephant. Oh, oh, imagine...there I'll be, swaying back and forth in the shade of a fringed canopy, taking photographs of the glorious colours of that extraordinary continent. Do come and join us, even if for part of the way. xx

Yoli, you were the star of the ball! Oh my, those shoes. the antlers. Can Gordon handle you? You were mesmerizing!

Carrie Burtt said...

Darling those shoes are to die for, and so is that amazing dress!
You and Dr House were quite the team on the dance floor!

Karen L said...

Yoli - what a fabulous post! I saw you arrive last night as Donald and I pulled up just behind you. You and your antlers held together quite well considering the "tin can" wheels Dr. House commanded. The night was yours and I'm sure our feet have seen better days. Ha!

Nana Jo said...

Thank you for calling at my place. Love, love, love those shoes! Not too many could pull those off, but you did, my dear. I'm the quiet type of woman but oh, how I enjoyed basking in the sun of the witty and more colourful!

chiccoreal said...

Oh the most fab wear.. you looked absolutely stunning Yoli! Had I known I would have upped the haute couture arsenal. Certainly the "it" girl this year. Where did you get that canary yellow diamond? It is to die for...omg!BTW House should have read the live chat transcript with David Shore (for my home town) on my blog! For all House fans (who isnt!). The man is a dream!

Sublime taste. You had me from the get go. Delightful. Love and Light, Sender

Yoli, you are elegance incarnate. What a fabulous dress.

Oh Yoli, you were divine in those antlers. I am ever so happy you were picked up in a car with the top down. You are so unique and creative! I see that you fall for those Brits. I can't say I blame you - House's blue eyes are a dream.
