Waste

Do you take care of the earth? What is the legacy you are leaving behind? Do you recycle and teach your children to recycle? Or are you just one of those that could care less what you leave behind? I was driving and watching the car in front of me throw plastic bags and cups out the window. It made me so sad, they had kids in the car. What does that teach them? I also see a mess of fishing line thrown about on docks, the harm that is does to pelicans. Is no one accountable anymore?

Oh how I hate it when I am driving along and someone is throwing trash out of the window... makes me want to ram the back of their cars... though I wouldn't do that cause the kids are in there... people are so stupid...

That's so sad. Our town just gave us all gigantic recycle containers with wheels and attached lids. It is so wonderful.

That still happens? It must, b/c the streets are disgusting. I think that all the trash should be gathered and each logo'd item counted and those companies should pay extra money. If McD's can't keep their wrappers off the streets by educating their patrons, they should pay.

It is unfortunate that there are people out there that do not care and teach this attitude to their children. I wonder what other attitudes they are teaching their kids!
I have been very fortunate that the cities I have lived in all encouraged recycling, and it is part of our daily life. I remember growing up I used to watch these TV commercials about an older Indian male with a tear coming out of his eye as he held up or gazed on some sort of pollution. I am grateful that today there is so much more information out there, and that living "green" is talked of in schools, TV, communities and in the news. I just hope we are not too late for our own children's sake, for they will inherit all our past mistakes.

I love the song from the footloose soundtrack. "i need a hero" brings back memories.

as to the environment - it's probably too late for us to save ourselves. but it's worth trying.

No, I think most do not care at all. They just think that if they go on and on and things will take care of itself.

Remember when yogurt came in waxed cardboard containers? How come we can only get it in non-recyclable plastic now? Drives me crazy because yougurt is the only dairy that 2 of my kids will eat.

and this kind of behavior is the easiest of all to change. i would be mortified for life if i threw anything out of the car window or any other window for that matter!
p.s. i LOVE the new header yoligirl!!

Yes we recycle. Yes we will teach our daughter to recycle. I'll probably be the mom trying to convince her to create her own "don't litter" campaign when she has to do a project for school.
I have bought as little as possible for her that's new and packaged, and it's amazing how little that turns out to be! Probably 90 percent of what she owns and wears is handed down or re-gifted, even her BPA-free bottles, towels, etc. My indulgences when it comes to purchases are mostly etsy, with no plastic packaging. It's just a drop in the bucket, but we all have to do our part set the example.

I call in their license plates. Yeah, that's the kind of good samaratian I am! I can not stand littering of any kind. Shame on the parent's for not having a clue what their children were doing in the back seat......

That burns me. I almost lose it when people litter, especially people who toss their stinky cigarette butts out the window as a habit. Pricks.
