A little Magic from Marrakech

'The time has come,' the walrus said, 'to talk of many things: of shoes and ships - and sealing wax - of cabbages and kings.'
~Lewis Carroll

A bit of fragrance always clings to the hand that gives roses. ~Chinese Proverb

As the bus slowed down at the crowded bus stop, the Pakistani bus conductor leaned from the platform and called out, "Six only!" The bus stopped. He counted on six passengers, rang the bell, and then, as the bus moved off, called to those left behind: "So sorry, plenty of room in my heart - but the bus is full." He left behind a row of smiling faces. It's not what you do, it's the way that you do it. ~The Friendship Book of Francis Gay, 1977

I am fond of Maryam's wedding blankets but I am most fond of the dear lady herself. Today the mail arrived with a shipment from her beautiful land of Marrakech. Included with my blankets, came a tiny pair of Moroccan child slippers. She did not have to do this, it is a sweet gesture she does for anyone who buys one of her exquisite blankets. She usually sends a pair of adult slippers with the purchase of a blanket but this time around, she sent me a pair for my daughter Salomé. I was not expecting my daughter's utter thrill at receiving those slippers. She did not want to take them off when she went down for a nap. I do not over indulge my children but I admit I gave in just this time. Thank you Maryam for bringing a little bit of that Moroccan magic to her heart. Your kindness will not be forgotten.

Please stop by My Marrakesh to read about Maryam's adopted homeland. While there, peruse what she has in her shop for sale. I warn you, you will be swept away.

I am always so taken back when I see the name Salomé. As you know it is on our short list.

Those slippers are so precious but that website could be quite dangerous.

Aw Yoli, she deserves those slippers and so much more. I wish I could sweep her away to a Moroccan saffron field here for the afternoon. Thank you so much for a link to my goodies!!!

Everytime I visit your blog, I am simply amazed. At your photographs, at your beautiful writing and at your honesty. I am talking about all of your beautiful posts.
My blog is the worlds most boring compared to yours. I just wanted you to know since I don't always leave a comment.
