Costume Ideas

It is that time of the year to start hunting for the perfect Halloween costume. If I were craftier, I would make them. What do you think of these inspirations? Of course, Zorro is a personal favorite. If you are interested in any of the above costumes, they can be found at http://chasing-fireflies.com/ they are pricey.

The Chasing Fireflies is Claire's favorite catalog! She would sit this summer and study the clothes everyday. Her favorite dress was a thrifty $198. (We didn't get it for some reason!) Forget the Toys R Us catalog, Claire likes clothes!
She spent a good 40 minutes on the costume catalog.

Those are awesome. I just think blowing that much $$ on a costume. Granted, many kids will wear them again.

You music is cracking me up! Wasn't that Footloose?

I have to go with Zorro as well. I was a huge Zorro fan as a kid, and loved to dress up in a mask and running around making Z's on things with my dad's fencing foils.

Wait a minute people, I am not buying these costumes. Are you kidding? They are an arm an a leg. These are just inspirations.

I like the pirates. I read in People that Tori Spelling and her brother got picked on and beat up by the other kids when her parents dressed them up as Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI for Halloween so you can't dot he queen costumes... of course, I'm sure there are many other reasons that Tori got her butt kicked.

I love them, they are so gorgeous, too bad in the north we have to sometimes cover our costumes with a heavy winter or fall coat. ;(
I adore the Queen of hearts.

Wow! I would have killed to have any of these costumes as a kid! (Except for the vampire.)

Almost every year I was a gypsy. Except for the last Halloween when I was one of the Andrews Sisters, but nobody knew what I was supposed to be, which was very disappointing.

I will keep this catalog in mind for my niece someday!

we get this catalog...I have no idea why, the clothes and costumes and all the goodies are well out of our price range, I did drool over the Queen of HEarts costume for a minute or two though...

In the past I have made most of Pipers costumes, last year she was Lola from 'Charlie & Lola'(her Dad was Charlie. The year before she was a chicken, and her first costume was on the day we picked her up in China, a ladybug(gag gag gag), Oct 31 is a big day for us, our Familyversary!

Good Luck with the costume making, I want Piper to be Darth Vader, but since she doesnt know who he is I will have to help her choose something else...but God help me if it's Hannah Montana!

Is that Dracula, second from bottom up? That's my favourite.

Greetings from London.

Those sure put our collection of fur animal suits to shame! The only problem in this corner of the continent, is that by the time Halloween rolls around, it's usually below freezing! I find that the kids often have two costumes: one for inside parties and one for trick or treating that is WARM or will fit over a coat!
